Dekker is a British photographer based just outside of London. An awkward geek at heart, he has always loved the mix of creativity and technology that modern photography provides, while being equally enamoured with the romanticism and analogue nature of traditional film and Polaroid photography.
He focuses heavily on the rapport between himself and the model before the shoot ever starts, often provoking a confidence or cheeky side the models rarely portray. He is inspired to photograph people holistically; looking for the quirks and idiosyncrasies that make us who we are.
Dekker focuses heavily on the fashion nude and beauty genres but enjoys the breadth and scope that photography provides creatives. He bizarrely finds his photographic style markedly different from those who continuously inspire him: David LaChappelle, Nick Knight, Kesler Tran and Miles Aldridge.
Outside photography, Dekker loves all things Japanese, playing his guitar and a good popular science book. He hates needless artistic pomposity, pomegranate juice and talking about himself in third-person.
