Q. Coming off what I’m sure was a busy 2013 for you, if you can sum it up, how was the year as an individual artist as well as a member of Nouveau Yorican?
A. It’s been an amazing 2013. Nouveau Yorican had one really fun release “Diga Me” on my label, Turn It Records… I had a great 2013 as an individual artist, releasing many EPs, both Solo and Collaborations. I must say that my biggest releases this year have been “Dance For Me” featuring John Roman and "Bliss"

Q. What big things can we expect from Gina Turner in 2014?
A. Two words - MORE MUSIC!
Q. Laidback Luke is very well known around the world for his heavy bass work, he is not only a music partner, but also your husband… I’m sure you’re asked this quite a lot… but how did things happen between yourself and Luke
A. We met a while ago and were strictly just friends. We started making music together in 2008/2009, then we started dating in June 2010 and continued making music together :)
A. I am a yoga instructor as well and it’s a HUGE part of my life
Q. What made you transition to House Music? And are there any other genres you would also like to experiment with?
A. I have always loved house music! I grew up in NY and going out, I never limited myself to just one genre ever. I love hip hop and downtempo stuff as well as techno.

A. Always stay true to who you are and what you do!
A. My first love is definitely radio but nothing beats the feeling of playing a track you just produced in a club and seeing the reaction from it.

Q. What inspired both of you to initiate the project “Nouveau Yorican?
A. Well it all started in Miami one year at WMC and I was playing Luke some really obscure techno and house and he was very impressed and was like “Where do you find this music?? I need to get into the studio with you and making something totally different!” and the rest is history.
Q. You were originally born in Nyack, New York; however you made your name in Boston as a DJ after graduating from Emerson College. What was the music learning experience like at College?
A. I honestly loved my experience at Emerson College. It was a real hands on learning experience and because I majored in Radio Broadcasting and Audio Production. I was really doing something I absolutely LOVED

Q. Currently you host your own radio show on BPM channel, produce music both as Gina Turner and a member of Nouveau Yorican, and tour the world performing at several venues. Among all these, where does your heart lie the most?
