"My name is Gundega and I am Latvian Photographer currently based in Northern Ireland. I never really was able to figure out what exactly I would like to do with my life as I have always had an impatient and swift personality. I enrolled in the Textile department, but I left it from the Arts and Advertisement Department and yet still without Diploma in my hands.
I was so impatient that I couldn't finish Art college because I lose interest in the subjects that I I chose. But one year while studying Arts and Advertisement, the school program offered a photography class for one year. Even though the class was only an intro into photography and was very brief, I think that was exactly time when I fell for photography. Well, as I said I didn't finish that college at the end, but I felt so fulfilled just because I finally found myself in photography.
Further photography experience was gained by self learning. I soaked knowledge and expertise about photography in any way I possibly could and was able to find and take every opportunity to learn and practice it. Today I could say I live my photographs and subjects in them. I call myself a 'Hunter of soul'. I really enjoy having that special and intimate moment when I feel I am getting that very 'true' shot! Also, I would like to mention that I am still looking for my way, but now I know it is photography :) I always liked creating a picture, but I was too impatient to be a painter, so I decided to be a painter with light... Photographer. "
