Q. You’ve started the year on a high note with several performances in your home state of California. What’s the energy been like so far at the events in 2014?
A. Energy’s been amazing! Kicked it off with two great shows at my AVALON Hollywood residency alongside Andy Moor, Tydi, Lange & Betsie Larkin, and experienced massive vibes at shows in Sacramento, Orange County, and Atlanta. No complaints here!
Q. Excluding your tour performances, what other interesting projects are you working at the moment?
A. Main project right now is finishing the follow-up collab to “Signals” with Menno de Jong. We teamed up with Betsie Larkin and newcomer Shannon Kline on writing/vocals for this one and we’re really excited about it. I also have a couple tracks in the works with Thomas Bronzwaer, and we’re working on launching my new podcast in the coming weeks too. Good stuff ahead :)
Q. Of all the places or events you’ve toured worldwide, which was your favorite and why?
A. I’d have to say Amsterdam and Honolulu, Hawaii. Amazing people, beautiful sights and epic party vibes. I’ve got big love for Central America too but honestly, I can’t really name a place I haven’t enjoyed.
A. Lots of great gigs, more productions, a new podcast and KSky merchandise.
"...keep doing what you love, for as long as the universe will allow it..."
A. Funnily enough, I never actually consciously made that decision! Everything in my career has happened very organically from the start. Before starting to DJ full-time, my plan was to finish Music Business school at UCLA and dive into the mainstream music industry at a label or agency, but life had other plans for me I guess
Q. Where do you think you can get even better?
A. Professionally and personally, I’m always on a constant mission to better myself. Getting too comfortable can breed laziness and complacency and that’s totally not my style. Work in progress baby!

Q. What exciting things are yet to come from Kristina Sky later this year?
A. I have two Mexican Hairless dogs. Most people say they look like Yoda and Gremlins haha! I’m obsessed :)
Q. Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
Q. When did you make the decision to become a world famous producer and performer?
Q. Last words or a quote for those in need of inspiration.
A. Work incredibly hard, keep it real, and don’t take shortcuts. <3 KSky
"Work... hard, keep it real"
Q. Since then you’ve performed in the world’s largest electronic music events, sharing the stage with artists such as AVB and Madonna. Do you consider yourself to have finally “made it” as a performer and producer?
A. In a sense, yes, as I’ve been fortunate enough to make a living with music, but as they say, “life’s a journey, not a destination” so I don’t really think it’s about “making it” to a certain point per se, but just to keep doing what you love, for as long as the universe will allow it, and enjoy things as they happen.
Q. Nowadays we’re seeing much more women involved in the Electronic music arena than ever before. How do you feel about the status of females in the Industry?
A. It’s about time! I’m stoked to see more females involved in the scene. There’s absolutely no good reason why women can’t DJ/produce/promote events/manage artists like the boys do, so I say “bring it ladies!”
