My name is Lisa-Marie McGinn. I was born in a small town in Scotland and immigrated to Canada in 2003. I first discovered my love for photography when I was in grade 10 of high school and I quickly realized that I wanted to pursue it for my future career. I received my first DSLR, a Canon 40D, from my parents for Christmas in 2007. I took my camera everywhere with me and started to see the world differently. I loved experimenting with angles and light. When I was in my third and final year of University, studying Design and Photography, I took an interest in fashion photography. I started finding inspiration through music, movies and other artists. The best part of a shoot in my opinion is gathering inspiration, finding the right team and then watching your idea come to life.
Since I started shooting fashion photography in 2012, I have had the privilege of being published numerous times in magazines such as Dark Beauty, Fashion Affair, Fashion Faces and a South African magazine called PiNK MiNK. I have also had the opportunity to photograph at Western Canada Fashion Week as well as look-books for local designers and boutiques.
My future goals are to travel the world, meet new people in the fashion/music industry and keep pursuing my love for photography because I firmly believe you have two choices: you can either sleep with your dreams or you can wake up and chase them.
