Yes, we released my EP Believers / Sleepwalker with Nueva Deep at the end of January. It was my first official release after a year of silence. 2013 was a hard year for me. I moved to Moscow from my hometown and focused on film scoring and produced many tracks for some big names in Russia. That EP was like a breath of fresh air for me. I am sill working with guys from Nueva Deep. At this time I'm waiting for a beautiful single "Drive" from Kristoffer Ljundberg with my remix.
So many tracks will be released in 2014. I'm super exited about my EP "Run Away", it's coming up on Spirit Soul. Also my single "Over" on Indiana Tones, "Fall For Your Type feat. Leusin" on Clubstream. Many tracks are in progress now - "Paradise" with Alex Hook & Rene, "Shine" with Alex Hook & supercool vocalist Gosha from Axwell's label Axtone.
Q. Earlier this year you also had an EP under Nueva Deep, would you say it’s been a great year so far?
I was in sunny Cyprus when Spring Tube's bosses connected with me last october. They showed me a demo from Marcelo and I came up with a vocal melody just for a couple of minutes. "Hold Me On" is a light track, I was happy to work on it
Q. You’ve got an upcoming release under Spring Tube alongside producer Marcelo Nassi. How do you feel about “Hold Me On” and what was it like to work with Marcelo?
Q. What other projects or releases can we expect from Matvey later in 2014?
"I was happy like a child...
every time when the big namesshow me some respect"
Love the music you produce, travel and find inspiration everywhere.
I think my best achievement in music is getting the feedback from ordinary listeners. Also I feel happy every time when I finish new tracks and when I work with great musicians around me.
Q. Today you’ve accumulated support from some of the biggest names including Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Markus Schulz and many more. What would you say is your biggest achievement so far in music?
Q. Which producers continue to inspire you everyday to make great music? Why?
So many producers who inspire me: Pete Oak, russian producers Anton Ishutin & Anturage, Nina kraviz, Max Lyazgin, Going Deeper, Keljet, GusGus, Maceo Plex and many others.
Q. In 2010 you were named the best newcomer by the well known Solarstone in Solaris International. Describe to us how you felt when you heard the news?
I was happy like a child. I have this feeling every time the big names show me some respect and support my music.
Q. How have you grown as a producer and a person since then?
I produce music every day, hours and hours since 2008. Not only dance music. I started as a trance / progressive house producer. At this time my music sounds deeper than ever, with some nu disco vibes. I have spent the last year working on film scoring. It was amazing, no rules and frameworks, just a pure music. Great experience.
Q. Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
I can speak about all people around me, friends, parents and my girlfriend - people far removed from the music. After years of dealing with me they really know how a compressor works, or what is delay and hall reverb. Even my cat Tyson knows about music production ;)
Q. Last words for aspiring DJ’s and producers
