Working with Ray is always so much fun! He's full of energy and we vibe off each other really well. We've done quite a lot together now and he feels like a real big brother to me!
The feedback from this track has been special. People seem to have connected with it in a real deep way. Some of the comments were quite touching. I was very proud to have the second single from such a great album.
Q. And working with Ray Foxx?
It was quite a surprise as it all happened so fast! I was writing in LA in April and pretty much as soon as I came back to London all the Boom Boom hype kicked off and didn't stop until the end of September. It was brilliant! So much fun to perform the track at Mallorca Rocks and also play keys and sing live on the Radio 1xtra Live lounge.
Q. Last year was one of your most successful years, the highlight being your single with Ray Foxx “Boom Boom” which peaked at number 12 on the UK singles chart. Must’ve been quite a ride. What was it like to achieve this?
Q. You’ve also done some recent work with Mat Zo in late 2013, releasing “Only For You” under Anjunabeats. What’s the feedback been like?
"Take risks and be different... NEVER GIVE UP!"
I have a cool underground tune coming out with a London DJ/Producer "Roska" and another commercial featured artist release which I can't say too much more about.
I am also hoping to share some more of my Solo stuff so everyone keep your eyes and ears peeled.
Q. You’re also currently shooting one of your latest music videos alongside Ray Foxx. What can we look forward to?
Q. What else can we expect for the rest of 2014 from Rachel K Collier?
Yes we finished shooting a few weeks ago. I had the best time ever! Singing and dancing on the beach in Ibiza with a very hot guy. Ray and I worked with a great production team and I loved doing all the action shots like when I got to do an underwater kiss.

Q. Do you see yourself working with other Anjunabeats artists in the near future?
Yes. I don't see why not! I love Dusky; would love to do a track with them.

Q. As a vocalist you have a lot of freedom in terms of genre selection. What made you pursue a career in electronic music?
I have always been a bit of a raver, I love dancing and jumping about. When I was kid my Mum used to buy me the Ministry of Sound Annuals every year. I also love a strong song. I make my own beats as well as write melodies, lyrics, and sing, so for me the decision made itself.
In electronic music I always liked Robyn and Yukimi, the lead singer from Little Dragon. Destinys Child and Beyonce; every time I listen it makes me wana go and do a vocal workout! Otherwise while I was growing up I had a fascination with Aretha Franklin and Michael Jackson.
Q. Which other vocalist(s) in Electronic Music (or outside) acts as major source of inspiration to you?
Q. Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
I love ice-cream, it's my favourite food! Sometimes if a banging song comes on my iPod when I'm out running I have to stop and dance even if there are people around! I don't care if I look like an idiot. The music possesses me.
Q. Give us some words of inspiration
Take risks and be different. You won't get ahead doing what everyone else is doing! Work as hard as you possibly can and try to make everything fun! See even the most boring tasks as a game! NEVER GIVE UP!
