"I always liked taking pictures but was never satisfied with the results and topics I shot. During New York Fashion Week 2009 I discovered the exciting combination of photography and fashion. I started to take it seriously and for one year rented a photostudio once a week. Feeling comfortable with my equipment I now shoot both in studios and on location.
Collaborating with creative talents is the most satisfying element of shooting. I'm often surprised by the delicate or bold imagination of young fashion designers. My style shifts towards a more improvised style, also simplifying the set up and reducing the number of lights.
Fortunately my work is appreciated by models, make up artists and wardrobe stylists. Through their network I can now easily schedule shoots and work with new talent. It is exciting to have pictures printed for exhibitions or see work in (online) publications. The result of shooting is very direct: a perfect excuse to dedicate my spare time to shooting.
