Rhi is a fine art portrait photographer from Tacoma Washington whose art explores themes of mythology, dreams, surreal landscapes and psychological spaces. She sees the monstrously beautiful, subconscious, secret worlds hidden within individuals and endeavors to draw them out giving them voice and meaning. She works closely with clients to extract their personal content and illustrate for the world their unique metaphor. Focusing on details such as color theory, location, wardrobe, posing, makeup and hair stylists, Rhi creates images that represent fragments of one’s mind or essence of being. The theme of a production can focus on a persona or alter ego while others can reveal general emotions and experiences. Rhi’s personal work is designed much in the same way so that she can expose her identity over and over again in a lifetime of expression using her own body in self portraiture, or with a model as her surrogate self. Some of her personal productions come from literal dreams and experiences while others come from hidden desires, fictional stories and fears.
